Reiki (ray-key) is made of two Japanese words; rei meaning soul or spirit, and ki meaning ‘vital energy’. The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to shift any energy blocks and allow better energy flow through the body.
A Reiki treatment can be given lying down or seated. The practitioner’s hands are laid on the body or if preferred just above. Typically, you may feel sensations like heat, cold, tingling or vibration.
Following a treatment people generally feel calmer, clearer, more energised and positive. Pain can be reduced or even disappear. The experience can be quite profound.
